Draft Landing:
High-converting landing pages, fast & easy.

You know you’re supposed to point your inbound traffic at landing pages. So why don’t yours convert well?

Ever wondered whether you’re leaving valuable first-order money on the table with your current landing page strategy?

That’s where we come in. Introducing Draft Landing, an end-to-end, research-first landing page that’s more likely to beat what you currently have.

The problem

It generally makes more sense to drive your paid spend towards a custom-tailored landing page that describes your business, offers the reader your product, and positions yourself strongly against alternatives. Everybody knows this!

But how do you make your landing page convert well? Well, you have no idea. You could ask other marketers, but that just keeps you from avoiding the biggest mistakes. You could find “best practices,” but those might be out of date – or just flat-out misleading.

In short, you need to turn this…

LogoStoreAbout· “About” is selfish –  focus on customer needs in primary nav · “Store” instead of primary categories: poor usability· Focus on outcomes not what you sell – in your headline · “Shop all” CTA is undescriptive · “Ghost buttons” convert poorly· Hardly anyone scrolls here, nobody engages. In our experience – and between our four books & eleven years of clients, we have rather a lot of it – we have found that the best way to create a high-performing landing page is to figure out what drives your specific customers, and write to their real needs. We’ve gone through some form of this process for our consulting clients for over seven years now, slowly refining our method as we go, and now we’re ready for you.

We’re not like those who chase hollow celebrity on DTC Twitter, and we definitely don’t believe “quick wins” work, because you’d have done them already. Revenue-generating design isn’t slick or trendy. It’s an evergreen, customer-focused practice that generates outsize revenue through thoughtful craft. We invite you to consider a new way of working that restores & revitalizes the relationship between your business & your customers.

The solution

First, we’ll gather as much evidence as we can. What surveys have you run with your customers? What has support figured out? What heat & scroll maps do you have on your existing funnel? What can analytics teach us? What ads are you running right now, and how well are they faring? And finally, what are people saying in your product reviews?

Next, we’ll work with you to create an offer for the landing page that makes financial sense for the business. For example, if your CLTV is $75 and you’re paying $2 per click, paid ads are almost never first-order profitable. What bundling can we provide that will keep conversion rate high and make paid spend profitable? What first-order discounts can we feasibly provide? (A good yardstick is around 2x your regular lifetime value, for the record.)

Then, we’ll write your landing page with our evidence in mind. We’ll present our first revision within a month. One revision is in scope for this work.

Once all looks good, we’ll work with a trusted partner to build & launch it.

The details

Draft Landing is $3,500, and barring unforeseen circumstances we’ll take 6 weeks from start to completion. Additional landing pages or revisions are $1,000 apiece; if you want us to build & analyze an A/B test & recommend follow-up changes, that’s another $500.

Lest you think we’re blowing smoke, here’s former client Ezra Firestone of Smart Marketer:

Nick has been AMAZING to work with. So knowledgeable and easy going. Suggests changes, implements them, and helps us grow our business. All the while being super communicative and easy to deal with. Can’t ask for more than that.
